ReaMix – Great Book on Mixing in Reaper My summer reading is not a crime novel this year, it’s a fantastic book on mixing using Reaper: ReaMix – Breaking the Barriers with Reaper. Download file iso buat android emulator. The large focus is on doing things in a methodical way, following a well-defined process. The first eye-opener for me is to do what the author calls pre-mix. Break The Barriers
Overview
This book does much more than just teaching you how to use basic tools (such as volume, panning, EQ, gates, compressors, delay, reverb, etc.) to get an OK mix. It also guides you through the relationships - some simple, some complex - that exist between the dimensions of sound and the dimensions of space. It gives you the confidence to transform your OK mixes into great mixes. Although not light on theory, it has a practical emphasis, with links to archives containing some 40 or so project files, with step by step examples. These help you put your knowledge into practice. 'Wow! So much good stuff - from mindbending advanced techniques to solid sensible advice, this guide should have a positive effect on just about anybody interested in mixing (and especially those using REAPER)!' - Justin Frankel, Cockos Inc, developer of REAPER.

Hi Geoff-
Sorry to break this out into another thread.
I purchased the .pdf version of 'ReaMix: Breaking the Barriers with REAPER' last night, and I think it's *exceptionally* well done! You already know what I think of your writing, and the examples/samples I've been able to try so far are excellent. I'm going to put it on my Kindle so I can carry it with me everywhere<g>!
A few questions/comments as I'm going through it, in no particular order, and to no one in particular -- not to place a burden on Geoff -- anyone please feel free to jump in!<g>
- How do I default the Master Output to Main Outs instead of Phones (MOTU Ultralite)? I know I can create a Template, but every time I open an existing project I have to change the Output before I can hear anything. I want to have Phones as an option, but not as the default output.
- Is the 'Simplify envelope data when recording automation' setting still available, and if so, where do I set that?
- At one point in ReaMix it says 'Position your play cursor at 1:24.000' - What's the quickest way to 'Go To' that (or any) point?
- Schwa's Spectro is extremely cool, and I will be purchasing that like right now, based on what I did with it so quickly/easily (see ReaMix, page 49)!
- Oh, and Schwa's Notepad is very cool as well! It reminds me of but is better than the notepad in FLS, which I often used to automate for lyrics.
Kid in a candy store here<g> -- I'm very much a newbie with REAPER, an oldie with SONAR, but this is some really valuable stuff, no matter!
Go get ReaMix if you haven't already.
Thanks-
-Susan
